Michelle Butler earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida. She moved to North Carolina in the summer of 1999 from Tampa, Florida. Michelle is a twenty-year teaching veteran with the privilege of serving as an elementary teacher, middle school curriculum coach, and a high school teaching and learning coach. As an elementary teacher, Michelle taught both third and fourth grade students. During her years of teaching, she served as a member of the school improvement team, grade level chair, and was recognized in 2013 as Johnston County Public School's Certified Teacher of the month. As an instructional coach, Michelle served students and supported teachers as an MTSS coach, testing coordinator, and instructional specialist. Michelle is pursuing a masters degree in school administration through North Carolina State University and anticipates graduating in May of 2020. She is currently serving as Principal Resident at Corinth-Holders Elementary School in Zebulon, NC.
In addition to her role as an educator, she is a proud wife of twenty years and mother of two girls, ages eight and sixteen. When she is not working or attending school, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, and visiting Disney World.
